Kindle Unlimited is a subscription-based service provided by Amazon that allows users unlimited access to a vast selection of e-books, audiobooks, and magazines. Currently Kindle Unlimited is not available in Norway however there are a few ways you can still use the service. Here’s how to get around to the block and enjoy Kindle books in Norway.
Amazon Kindle in Norway/Norge
Many Norwegians pick up Kindle readers while traveling in UK or the USA. They are sometimes surprised to get home only to find out it’s not very well supported in Norway. If you purchased the Kindle in the UK you likely assume you would buy Kindle books from the Amazon UK store. However, it’s better and easier to purchase books from the main Amazon.com website. You’ll also get a better selection of books to download to your Kindle.
Creating an Amazon.com account to use Kindle in Norway
Before starting to signup and use US-based services like Amazon and Netflix it’s recommended to get a VPN. This allows you to access these services and hide your location. You’ll want to use a VPN in Norway when signing up for Amazon and making purchases. It works with all devices including mobile phones and iPad.

Making Payments without a US Address or Credit Card
To avoid having your account flagged it’s recommended to use American addresses and credit cards. If you don’t have either you can use a fake address or use a friend’s address in the USA. When purchasing your Kindle Unlimited subscription select the annual option ($120) to have access all year and avoid monthly renewal payments.
Once set up you can now access and download all the books offered through Kindle Unlimited. Use your VPN to order your books via Amazon.com and once your Kindle syncs they’ll be available to read.
